What I love most about eating an oil free diet is that it allows be to indulge in the true flavor of food, and the pleasure that comes in the simplest meals.

When consuming foods with oil, the flavor is covered up in what I like to refer to as slime, masking the full rainbow of blasting firework flavor 🙂 Continue reading

Carried Away By Caraway | Sauerkraut

When it comes to fermenting foods, I take it quite seriously. I firmly believe that we need to be consuming foods that have the strong ability to heal, restore, and maintain our bodies as much as possible. In my personal opinion, this goes far beyond consuming just  the right whole foods.

By now you’ve probably noticed that I strongly advocate the elimination of processed oils in the daily diet, with a firm advocation of whole foods and fermented “experiments” as well.FullSizeRender(32) Continue reading

For the past three years I’ve been making my own fermented foods at home. I fell in love with fermented foods the first moment I tasted a homemade batch of fermented sunflower seed spread, almost as if it were a love affair! From that moment on, I began preparing ferments at home. There’s a beautiful sense of fulfillment that continuously grows when preparing fermented foods in your own environment! Foods Of The Cosmos | Cosmic Crisps

Next to my blender, my favorite kitchen appliance is my dehydrator.

I use it on the daily, and couldn’t imagine my life without it! Seriously!

When I was in kindergarten, I remember snacking on these fruit leather things that were so delicious! I loved everything about them, their texture, taste, and pliability. They were a little gritty in texture also. Maybe you remember the name of them…?

Fast forward years later, here I am wanting to eat some favorite childhood snacks!

So, here it is! Continue reading

Kraut de Purpz | Fermented Cabbage!

Happy fermentation Friday!

So, I’ve spent all this time talking about fermented foods, and posting fermented photos on my Instgram. The entire time of taking pictures and talking about these fabulous healing foods, a few subscribers have helped me realize that I don’t even have a basic step by step process for you to actually make your own batch! I love this method of fermentation because it literally requires such a small list of required fermenting ingredients 🙂

An easy vegetable to begin fermenting with is red cabbage. Its full of flavor, an erupting color explosion to any plate, and supports digestion. What more would you ask for?  Continue reading

Rev Up Your Immune System & Kill Dem Buggas, Naturally!

I’ve been experimenting a lot over the past 2 years with eating raw, fermenting & dehydrating my foods. Many of my “experiments have turned out fantastic with my two lovely taste testers (my boyfriend and awesome girlfriend) by my side, my co-workers, and even along with my awesome clients at work! I have been so lucky to have a fantastic “tasting team!”

As I’ve been on the experimental and creative path of real food creation,  I’ve become much more aware of how to really enhance the resonance and power of food, and its effects on the body. With all that I have learned, I give 100% credit to my mentors. Continue reading
