When it comes to fermenting foods, I take it quite seriously. I firmly believe that we need to be consuming foods that have the strong ability to heal, restore, and maintain our bodies as much as possible. In my personal opinion, this goes far beyond consuming just the right whole foods.
By now you’ve probably noticed that I strongly advocate the elimination of processed oils in the daily diet, with a firm advocation of whole foods and fermented “experiments” as well. Continue reading
This past weekend my best friend & soul sister were able to celebrate her birthday early on a beautiful fine Sunday 🙂
We created a list of foods we wanted to make and enjoy while still accommodating the oil free lifestyle-train, which she has recently joined!
So, with the June gloom weather, we became inspired to make potato soup! Continue reading
For people that ask me if I’m vegan, vegetarian, or paleo, I honestly say neither. I personally don’t choose to associate myself with any type of dietary label, and I’d like to keep it that way. I choose to eat for the sake of my health, and advocate this for my clients as well. I believe that with proper education, we can make healthier choices that fit our lifestyles!
What does eating for health look like or involve? In my experience (including my clients), eating organic whole foods in a fermented and oil free form has been a great success thus far, and there’s research to go along with it! Continue reading
I decided to take some time to fast with liquids as a way to allow my body to alkalize, “clean house”, rejuvenate, and gain some clarity in aspects of life.
I had intended on using the traditional lemon, cayenne pepper, maple syrup cleanse (replacing the maple syrup with raw honey), but came to the conclusion that I’d welcome other fresh flavors 🙂 Continue reading
The weekend has arrived!
This will be a post that is out of usual pattern, but I’m excited to share this large piece of the world of my recipe creation 🙂
Almost 8 months ago, I chose to make an investment in my health.
In my vision of health, it all begins with the food. There is so much truth in the statement, “you are what you eat!” The beauty of this, is that it not only begins with what you eat, but also what you DRINK.
I’ve spent the past 7 years purchasing organic produce, making smoothies, evaluating ingredients. Three out of the 7 years have been spent making 85% of the foods I consume, simply because the quality of food available to us is just not good enough!
Gratefully, we have an option to choose the quality of our foods, including the water we drink. Continue reading
Last year I experienced the worst flu of my life! I grew up with having the flu countless times, but never quite like the one last year.
This year, I’ve been fortunate enough to fight off the bug, but have witnessed so many around me falling like flies to the flu.
To be brief, last year I was bed ridden for an entire 6 days straight. Three out of the 6 days was with a 103 degree fever. On the 5th day, I was able to conjure enough strength to make myself some soup with fresh herbs & spices I knew to be anti-pathogenic and virus fighting. I kid you not, within the first 30 seconds of my first sip, I was back to life!
Since this recipe worked so wonderfully for me, I’d love to share it with you! Hopefully you won’t need to use it for yourself.
But just in case, here you go!
Now that its beginning to warm up over here in California, its time to begin incorporating some liquid sunshine in your life!
Aside from its delicious taste, lemonade deserves to be looked at on a pedestal, a positive contributor to your health! However, this all depends on how you make it!
Lemonade without real lemons just isn’t lemonade. Continue reading
