The Wholey Gramz Crackers

So these little grahams (Gramz) came along totally unintended. But I’m so grateful they decided to debut themselves!

You see, I was actually making a batch of Wholey Cheezitz, but I had extra seeds and buckwheat on the side because my food processor was already packed. I didn’t really feel like soaking more herbs (Not like that takes much effort…), & my taste buds had already  met their savory taste testing threshold.

How I’ve Been Eating Cake For Breakfast

If you love a super dense cake, this one is definitely for you! Back in the day, vanilla cake with blueberries and strawberries was always my favorite!

I didn’t really know how to recreate that flavor, up until recently. To be honest, I’ve never really been a fan of coconut flour. I guess you could say this recipe helped me to fall in love with it.

I’ve discovered that it’s the perfect flour for the superdense cakes that I love, and love to share with others.

Why Cassava Tortillas Are A Must

OK I know that it’s been a while since I’ve posted a recipe, but to be quite frank, I’ve had a complete redirection of focus and intentions as to what my message is with HealthyHumanz. Within the time that I haven’t been posting, there has been a huge learning curve, which I am so excited to share with you all through the power of the food!

Of course, I have still been experimenting in the kitchen with trials and errors of what works and what doesn’t. As of right now, my core focus is still to create an advocate foods that are oil free, primarily plant-based, and now, shifting into gear with more anti fungal foods.

I’ll elaborate why anti-fungal foods are important in a later post.

With that being said, I would love to introduce you to my latest recipe, cassava tortillas!

Why This Recipe Is Essential For A Healthy Heart

I have this vivid memory from when I was little which involved carrots. My aunt was just as much of a health nut as I am. She was a runner, a strict vegetarian, and was always in the “know” with health and nutrition. To this day, she’s just as crazy about health, which is exciting, because we can speak the same language 🙂

I’d have to say she probably has so much to do with why I love to be in the kitchen. We’d spend days together in her kitchen baking and making jello. I have this very fond memory of her and carrots. Every time I’d be with her I’d always see her chewing on this HUGE giant carrot. Then one day, she finally gave me my own 🙂 I remember feeling so “adult-like” to have my own carrot. Ha!

This recipe reminds me of that time in my life.

Why Sugar Cookies Can Be An Option For You

IMG_0096.jpeg

Everybody wants cookies, and I don’t  believe a lifestyle change should deprive you from foods that have brought comfort to your life. Aside from everything nutrition, FOOD IS EMOTIONAL. We all have emotions tied to food. Even with years that have passed, we can all acknowledge that the smell of a certain something, or feeling a certain way can make us miss foods from the past. Food represents memories that warmed our hearts and bellies.  Continue reading

How To Make An Apple Pie The Healthy Way

Who doesn’t love apple pie? It used to be an ALL TIME FAVORITE dessert of mine, but its been years really since I’ve had it. It kind of just fell into the back drop of foods that I no longer engaged with because it was typically loaded with sugar and other junk. This all American food is a greatly desired one, but is rated high on the list of “unhealthy.”

As you most likely know, most pies are generally made with white flour, white sugar, and other junk that really shouldn’t even be available for human consumption.

Now for the homemade apple pies, those have the ability to be made with cleaner options. But what if it’s in the middle of the holidays, its 20 days till Christmas, or it’s summer time, you want apple pie, but have no intention of making your own from scratch or purchasing a questionable pie?
